My experience at the event:

For the first time in 4 editions, I enjoyed the race from start to finish without having cramps, leg problems or being too uncomfortable. Unfortunately I couldn't say the same of my cycling partner, Curtis, who suffered a not too comfy sit from start to finish, having to stop to put vaseline on the injured parts. Cycling for 4 hours and 30 minutes is always hard, but when your balls and ass are on fire is even worse! (i remember having the same issue last year or 2 years ago).

This was also by far the hottest race we had. Compared to the past, there were no clouds or light rain. Only sun. Hitting the N14 (the piece of motorway just after 60kms, all uphill) was a problem, the asphalt was boiling and Curtis recorded temperatures as high as 36-38 degrees.

Regardless of the weather, we both finished in pretty much the same time. Curtis was struggling on the hills because of his groin issues, but gave up only at the last hill, just before the final sprint. The time wasn't great (7 minutes above our best) but with such a crazy weather, it was enough to make us happy!
