My experience at the event:

6 years after taking part in the crazy (and cold, North Europe in January is no joke) Tought Guy, I was very happy that the same concept (obstacle course over 6 kms) is taking place is South Africa as well. 
Yes, the day has his issues: a storm the night before destroyed some obstacls and some markings, there was some lack of organization and too many runners cheating their way by skipping the hard obstacles (like a 5m jump into the muddy waters...), but the vibe was excellent and my team (Curtis, who probably found his sport, Andy, struggling a bit under a scorching sun, and I) did very well in finishing in the top 200. Yes, Curtis and I waited for Andy a little, but since it was our first race of this type, we wanted to finish together!
