My experience at the event:

It has been a while since I did a race abroad. While spending a weekend in Italy after a long week of work in London, I decided to go and take part, with my cousin Davide, in this race. Our preparation wasn't the best: we stayed up and drunk until 3.30 in the morning, and woke up 3 hours later to drive to Rho.
The weather conditions changed too overnight: what was a chilly evening turned out to be a snowy morning. Driving so early on a Sunday it meant that the chances to meet other cars were close to zero, so I could drive and worry only about the snow and not the traffic.

Once we arrived in Rho, they told us that the race course changed because of the weather: instead of running on the road, we would spend most of the race running by a canal, on a mixture of snow and mud. Davide and I didn't mind so we completed the 13km course under the snow (I don't think i've ever done a race in this conditions, especially in Africa...) 

Our final time wasn't too bad, and instead of the usual medals we got coffee and wine. Not bad at all!
