My experience at the event:
The route was interesting (first 3km were the same as the 32km Tough One, organized by the same club, RAC, and the last 3km were the same as the end of that race) but what made is extremely exciting was the shoot out that occured between the police and some criminals at the Pick and Pay by William Nicol. While I was approaching the area, I clearly heard shots and saw people running in all the directions. I simply decided to sprint up the hill and get the fuck away from the bullets.Even with my injured hamstring, I finished in a decent time (under 50 minutes, on a very hilly course!) but I was mostly happy to leave the shooting far behind... (no medals, what the hell???)
