My experience at the event:

These are the nights where you work for so hard in your career. You lose matches, you get injured, you get frustrated but once in a while all comes together perfectly and magic happens.

We won the League Cup, with a final score of 2-1 against Linhill Celitc who finished just above us in the league. And for one night , no injuries could stop me in a night full of drama.
In front of Lindsey who came to support me for the first time this season, we started nervously, allowing Linhill to get some ground via long balls. Then we relaxed and by attacking on the wings (where I played) we got close 2 or 3 times. It was 5 minutes before the halftime that we broke the deadlock, via a nifty combination between me and other 2 guys with a great finishing. 

Linhill resorted to even more long balls in the second half. With the game in the dying minutes, and in one of the last, desperate attacks, they scored from an uncleared corner, finding the goal from a 20 meters long range ball.

Too often these are the moments when a game swings in favour of the team galvanized by a late equaliser. But it was not going to be: with 2 minutes to go, after another lengthy sprint on the line (I felt unstoppable in the second half!) I got the ball from a switch, controlled it, beat my marker, and presented in front of the keeper, when I cooly slotted the winning goal. 

The last minutes were full of panic, with Linhill trying again for a late miracle, but this time it wasn't meant to be. We won 2-1 and collected, 5 years after my first League Cup, our winning medal!
