My experience at the event:

The end of my first full triathlon season is almost here. With Curtis we decided to go back to Buffelspoort (where the beautiful XTerra off road triathlon takes place) and have some fun in a hybrid (you could choose either MTB or Road) triathlon. The swim was 600 meters, the ride 20km (on the road) or 13 (MTB) and the final run was 5km (even if it ended up being 4 for some strange reason).

As usual I started relaxed in the swimming , water was warm so there was no need of swimsuits. Curtis decided to keep my pace instead of sprining and dying later, so we came out of the water together. 
The road bicycle race was an interesting 20km around the dam, with a killing hill after 10km that killed the legs of a lot of competitors.  Curtis stayed with me for the first half, but after the hill got a little tired and ended up losing 2 minutes. That was the final difference at the end, since the relaxed and short run at the end was really too short to make any difference.

But with little training for the both of us we did quite well, and another medal got added to our collection!
