My experience at the event:

Last X-Triathlon of the season and what a great result! I finished 10th, my first top-10 result ever in triathlon. Sure, the fact that I was allowed to use my swimming suit helped (the extra buoyancy helps awful swimmers like myself), but I wish the other legs (MTB and trail race) were a bit longer, just to have a chance to catch up with the other guys.

After coming out of the Vaal River (in Sasolburg, by Abrahamsrust) in the middle of the pack, I managed to improve my final positioning in the MTB leg and in the running section. I was surprised when I realized I finished 10th, but hey, I deserved some good results after a nice first full triathlon season!
