My experience at the event:

Due to my injured calf I decided, instead of doing a running event, to enter a cycling one, not far away from home, in the beautiful Cradle of Humankind.
The race was the Bell of Hope Challenge (organized by a charity organisation that takes care of mentally disabled person, I think), a 50km with tremendous ups and downs (the area is famous for some hard hills).

The race started at 7.30, and at least until 30 minutes into it, I felt cold and miserable, due to my lack of preparation for the winter season. Only once I warmed up I managed to pick up my speed, and I finished the race just above the 2 hours mark, nothing special but I treated it like a training session, to avoid more problems.
