My experience at the event:
Swimming races are not my best activities, but with the xterra behind the corner, I decided to go to the Heia Safari (25 minutes from my house) to swim in the beautiful heritage lake.Initially I wanted to race the 1.2km, but Curtis wasn't very keen so we ended up taking part in the 400 meters, the last event of the day.
Surrounded by a crazy crowd (swimming schools, first timers etc...) we got split in 3 groups, and departed much later.
I had a strong swim, with the usual lack of direction that made me swim around 600meters instead of the original 400m (but I think the course was longer). Curtis finished just ahead of me (he's a much better swimmer) but I wasn't too sad with my results.
