My experience at the event:
Time to start 2015 with a 10km race in Pretoria. It has been a long time since I raced in the area (saturday are now reserved for other sports), but with Curtis with me, we decided to make the effort and drive 45 minutes in order to take part in the Great Run Series in Pretoria, by the Military Hospital.The race start was scheduled at 7am, which is a way too late for a summer start. After the first, easy, kilometers, the temperature took control of the race with 30-35 degrees on the road with no shade. The problems started after 4km, with a long, long hill that killed a lot of participants' legs. Curtis managed to keep my rhythm for 3km, before having some issues.
At the end I finished in a decen 48.11, with Curtis less than 10 minutes behind.
