My experience at the event:
This year the 25km MTB course took once again a new direction. Gone were the hills of Leeuwkop and the fantastic climb by Kyalami (one of my favorite), instead it was all replaced by an easy stroll around the Midrand.Curtis and I were both disappointed, taking it easy in order to push in the final 5km. Instead, we ended up not having much fun at all. I'm aware the 25km is supposed to be some sort of novice race (unike the 50km, which is obviously more challenging), but comparing it to the past editions this was by far the easiest. Curtis suffered a little on the few hills under the hot weather, while I simply took it as a training for better things to come...
